Today you are going to have the chance to author your own
"Riddle Poem".
Before you start writing, you will read a short explanation of  How To Write Poetry . Next, you will read some examples of "riddle poems" in Guess What .  You will complete a Graphic Organizer to help you gather ideas for your poem.  Last, you will write your poem.
DIRECTIONS
1.  When you are ready to begin click on How To Write Poetry .
Read how the author explains how to write a poem.  Pay extra attention to how to rhyme words.
2.  Next, click on Guess What. Choose three examples of "Guess What" poems to read.  Use your imagination to figure out what object is speaking in the poem.
3.  Click on Graphic Organizer. You may choose either the "spider" or the "clustering" organizer to brainstorm ideas for your own "Guess What" poem.

4.  Now you are ready to are ready to write your own poem!  Remember to be creative, and use rhyming words.

 
When you have finished writing your poem you may click on Poetry Corner to read more fun poems!
