Many Chinese people live in apartments that are not large or fancy. Most people do not have many things of their own. Instead, two or more families will share one kitchen, one bathroom and one phone. Sometimes the kitchen is outside, in an alley, and the bathroom is down the hall. Many people live in one room where they eat, sleep, read, work, talk, and watch television. In it there is a large bed, a chest of drawers, a desk, a refrigerator and a table.
