Grading Tips for the Elementary Health Program
- A health grade is expected to be recorded on the report card each marking period for every student.
- Justification of a student’s health grade is expected in a matter consistent with all other subject areas.
- Health grades should be the result of a minimum of 4 assessments each marking period.
- A variety of assessment types should be used each marking period to determine the health grade.
- Any teacher may teach a health lesson when it logically integrates with their curriculum. This would include classroom teachers, special area teachers, or CDC.
- With the exception of the CDC, the health assessment should be given by the teacher teaching the lesson. Teachers may want to collaborate with their CDC so that appropriate guidance lessons can be assessed.
