Confidence
Patience Caprice Bona

Sometimes Confidence leaves you
Just to make you worry.
It lets you know
That she really does matter to you.
But if you cry, she will be there
To hold you and cry herself
Because she knows she was away for too long.

Confidence likes to go on long trips
And not tell you where she went.
One day the door will swing open,
And there she will stand,
Her book-bag slung over one shoulder,
Her bright red hair free and flying.
She will flop down on your bed
And pick up where she was before she left,
As if she never left at all.

Confidence is a stubborn person.
She stands her ground,
And she always argues.
She will never explain why she wants something
The way that she wants it.
She says, though, that it will be better for everyone
If you do it her way.
She beams the brightest when you listen.

Confidence will always be a rebel.
Even in the direst situation,
She will twist your words
And make them appeal to her.
And even when she is leaving,
She will never say good-bye.
