Discover and identify color as an element of art. Teacher defines color and illustrates color on the color wheel. Teacher names and shows primary and secondary colors.

Gather art prints that focus on mood as represented by color. Discuss dark and light, warm and cool, how light and color change through the day and seasons of the year (ID)

Have children use the colors that best represent each season. Warm colors in autumn, cool colors in winter, intense and bright colors in spring, and a blend of the colors in summer.
