A Grrrrreat Research Report

Introduction: In Theme 4, Animal Habitats, you are reading about different animals and where they live.  You are learning some interesting things about different animals that you may not have already known!  You are also discussing facts and opinions in your class and how to tell the difference.

Task: Now you are going to find facts about another animal and turn your information into a research report.  You will visit the links below to learn about an animal and then turn that information into either a written presentation or a power point presentation for your class.  This means you will become the teacher about the animal you research!

Process:

  1. Click on either of the following links to read about an animal for research.

o             The National Zoo

o             eNature.com

o             Yahooligans-Animals

o             Animal Bytes Sea World

  1. Find the appropriate animal by navigating the above links.
  2. Take out a Find the Facts worksheet.
  3. Fill in your name and animal.
  4. Answer the questions on the worksheet as you research your animal.
  5. When your Find the Facts worksheet is completed you may begin working on the Animal Research Graphic Organizer.  The graphic organizer may be printed out and completed as a hard copy or you may complete it on the computer as a power point presentation.  If you choose to do the computer version, all animations are preset.  You will need to click in the box you want to type in and then type your information.  Be sure to save your work frequently.
